Druss, I guess we will have to rename the thread but I have a rooster tale, too. My grandfather always had 25-30 'fighting roosters'. He kept them staked on tethers where they could almost get to each other. He had the belief that it 'kept the temper up' to let them spend their time jumping at each other. This was all well and good unless some bumble-headed grandson would venture too close. Then the bumble-headed grandson would jump from one lunging rooster into range of another rooster and so on. It would look very much like an 'ijit' in a pinball machine. I could spend several minutes being bounced from rooster to rooster. Eventually, my grand-dad would rescue me if I got his roosters too excited...usually with some comment about 'exciting my chickens'. I always wondered about that...me bouncing around until I thought my heart would fall on the ground and bounce around and hollering like a stomach pump with hemorroid problems but I was exciting the chickens. I suspect that I was probably a cheap form of exercise for the roosters. lee
