That's a bit of a cheap shot. Dems just aren't as cavalier about the idea as the Rs are.

We recognize that many people would do this poorly and hit old age with little or nothing. Many, however, like me think that risk could be overcome with proper management and oversight, but see the serious issue of morphing into that system and away from the one we have.

How do you make the transfer into that system when the current retirees are expecting a monthly check?

This should have been done some time ago, though, now it's too late with 78 million people fixing to go through retirement.

SS is not that much of a problem funding anyway. It's Medicare which is going to break the bank.
