Funny how socialists usually do not even see themselves in the light. Personally I think the flat tax would be a great idea. But it will never happen the way I would like it. It would be too simple. No deductions. nada Set a limit somewhere above the poverty line. From then on you pay. Corporations at the same rate. Can you imagine corporations not being able to deduct advertising expenses? Business "lunches"? etc. etc. Can you imagine doing away with the mortgage interest deduction as was done with credit card interest. Can you imagine doing your taxes in two minutes? Can you imagine the unemployed federal workers? Can you imagine H+R Block out of business? Can you imagine Morgan Stanley etc. out of the "looking for loopholes" business? Corporations not able to deduct political donations? No charitable contribution deductions? Someone would still consider it unfair. The rich would still pay the majority of taxes. You would have to take all deductions away or open a new can of worms. stock leader probably thinks it sounds unfair already. gg Never happen.
