The economy is already in a "recovery" according to the talking heads. I agree that it will eventually come, but before it does, how low do stocks go? Personally, I think the valuations got out of whack because so much money poured/pours in thru dollar cost averaging into IRA's and 401k's. These folks are getting soaked. They're a big percentage of that vanishing $5 trillion. They may get some of it back, but I don't know if they'll ever get back what they put in. I can't imagine a future scenario where CSCO ever returned to 82. In fact, I can't even imagine a scenario where they reach 30 again except for the greater fool theory. Those who didn't take advantage of the run by selling by mid-00 will probably have a hard time ever reaching whole again. jmo.
