Why anyone will think the Alpha will be a "runaway success", after being moribund for all of its 6 years in the marketplace, is beyond me. The Alpha has been a poor market performer for many reasons and being owned by one computer company or another (DEC or Compaq) - despite the phony Alpha, Inc. - will insure that it has very, very limited future success.
