Most institutional buyers don't place 1-300,000 share order. They will continually accumulate during the day or couple of days. 1000 here, 3000 there etc. When larger investors buy up 100,000+ in one shot that is where we get the price pops. This occured when the stock was in the 24's. The big guys have money in this stock. They won't let it go down. Today there was steady buying at the 'ASK' at $25.50, 1000 share blocks. 20-30 lots came through at the ASK, there was support at 25.50 like a brick wall. It won't go lower than 24's, I saw it myself the larger block trades we're going through in at 23-24+. The big guys hung on to Dell to try and squeeze out a little more, today they took their profits.

______________________________ NO BRAINER, HERE'S THE TRICK ON CPQ! by: FactorialGains (27/M) 76743 of 76756 Compaq is at a technical bottom. We know Dell is taking market share but the stock will not drop any further unless there is a market correction.
The spread was high today, with low volume. That means Ask's did not want to sell at these levels; some were spoked by Dell's results and sold at the Bid. Most investors are aware that the price drop is temporary and due to Dell's reported results.
There is support at 26, we all know Compaq can only rise with it low multiple as investor seek value. Compaq has things to look forward to: 1. They will announce a new CEO and other board members, net effect 2+ on that announcement. 2. The will spin off Alta Vista, that will generate a 4-6+ pop when that is announced.
Like I said in my rare posts, 28-30 by months end. And 33-35 by September. Remember the fall is when all the budgets are formulated and spent on computing equipment.
Only a correction will change this,
