true enough. i bought a pc with windows me about 1 year ago. i can live with it because it crashes a few times a week. the next machine i buy will be a device that utilizes the asp model. in that case i do not have to know anything about how the darn thing works. just fire it up and you would have something similar to aol or msn but with your customized applications on it.

the problem is the asp model is going to based on the database as the platform (i.e., orcl 91 with RAC) and various applications from thousands of application vendors. applications in the future will be written to the database not the OS. in that respect, both ibm and msft are years behind orcl in technology. Real Application Clusters (RAC's) is a very NEW and powerful technology that will enable ASP's to flourish.

God Bless America, rocky.
