The January EIA Electric Flash is out and you can see that NG demand for power generation was down about 87 bcf from Jan 05.

You can also notice that coal generation was down a much smaller percent than oil and gas generation. No surprise, well with present ng prices less ng will be consumed than last year for generation this Spring.

The drop we had in ng prices exiting January was no harder to expect than the drop we will have from here to find some demand. Sentiment will change once it is apparent that storage injections will be healthy and there still is no recovery in demand from the price spike that started last August.
