Optical Components : Though Corning (GLW) did not actually take numbers down for Q1, it did make cautious comments: it expects some softness in the telecom market due to capital availability, and several customers have recently indicated that their order rate may be lower and more uneven than previously expected in the first-half of 2001. No more color will be available until the conference call tomorrow morning, but as a result of these comments, optical components stocks are taking a beating after hours: (changes vs 4 pm) JDSU -4 1/4, SDLI -17, NUFO -6, AVNX -3 3/4, OCPI -1 3/8.
