USA Video Interactive Donates Encoding and Hosting Services to National Peace Garden Foundation
Video Features Former Presidents Carter and Bush

MYSTIC, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2001--USA Video Interactive (OTCBB: USVO; CDNX: US; www.usvo.com) has joined a number of other companies and individuals contributing services to the National Peace Garden Foundation (www.celebratepeace.org). With legislative authority from Congress, the National Peace Garden Foundation is planning to build the National Peace Garden on ten acres of federal land and must raise the necessary funds from private sources for the construction and endowment of the Garden by June 30, 2002. The designs of the park and monument have been approved by the National Capital Planning Commission and the National Fine Arts Commission.

USVO is encoding and hosting a sixty-second video featuring former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George Bush, honorary co-chairs of the Foundation, speaking about the importance of peace and the need to build the National Peace Garden. The video was produced by Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and already has been broadcast on numerous television stations as a public service.

``The National Peace Garden reminds our young people who shape the future of our nation that peace is one of America's oldest and most beloved ideals,'' said Elizabeth Ratcliff, founder of the National Peace Garden. ``Much as the Statue of Liberty holds high its torch of freedom, welcoming newcomers to add their unique abilities to the most talented society on earth, the National Peace Garden inspires us to work for peace in our schools, communities and in the national and international arenas. Making this video available on the Internet spreads this message beyond any geographical boundaries.''

Within the next few days, the encoded video will be able to be accessed from links on the websites of the National Peace Garden Foundation (www.celebratepeace.org), Peace Front (www.peacefront.org), and USVO (www.usvo.com). It will be available in three bandwidth levels for home-modem and broadband users; it plays through Windows Media Player.

``We chose USVO to help accomplish this mission not only because of the technical quality of their video streaming but also because of their commitment to education and to using the Internet with a social conscience,'' said Miriam J. Masullo, Ph.D., Advisory Board member and Research Staff member of the Thomas J. Watson Research Center of IBM. ``PeaceFront, with this video from Presidents Carter and Bush, will be the website that will launch a million emails from school children and college students reaffirming the commitment of our American youth to peace.''

The leadership of the National Peace Garden Foundation combines internationally known peacemakers with civic, government, educational, and corporate leaders. This group sets nonpartisan standards for the design, educational, and programmatic elements of the Garden itself. Presidents Carter and Bush serve as honorary co-chairs of the Foundation; Susan Eisenhower and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend are honorary vice co-chairs. Dr. Masullo is education and technology advisor to the Foundation.
