Yes, you are right. And that's the real problem. Moving away from options culture is tough to do. However, much of this decision might occur more easily than you think. If the powers that be decide to make companies expense stock options this year, which has a decent chance of happening, then you'll see companies like Cisco, Microsoft, and others, dramatically curtail their gifts of options to employees. I would bet my last dollar on that.
