Hi,

I wonder what the significance of this is? Could it help explain the heavy volume with little upward movement. Offsetting factors would have this effect. Anyone understand if this may compromise PGEN's Leptin patents long term valuation with AMGEN please respond.

Discovery of Brain Molecule That Inhibits the Anti-Obesity Hormone, Leptin, May Curb Obesity, Reports Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

BOSTON, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time, researchers have identified a brain molecule in animals that inhibits the ability of the anti-obesity hormone leptin to do its job, offering a possible explanation for excessive weight gain in both animals and humans. The scientists found that the SOCS-3 gene suppresses leptin action, preventing the signal from being sent that tells the brain it has stored enough fat and that it is time to stop eating. The study, published in the March issue of Molecular Cell, was conducted at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Seems to be a plausible explanation for controlling leptin activity. Do you think this significantly jeopardize PGEN's collaborative abilities or does it enhance it. I would tend to think the former. It appears as if the SOCS-3 gene would have greater potential in R & D as a source to treating obesity.
