AcSys Delivers the Future of Biometric Security Today
BURLINGTON, ON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ - Nexus Group International Inc.'s (NXS:TSE) AcSys Biometrics Corp. has officially released two products to manufacturing and launched them for commercial use. One of these products uses face recognition capabilities to provide access control for facilities. The other uses face recognition to provide logon security for PCs.
"We are most excited about the potential of these two products and their inherent abilities. AcSys FRS is an advanced face recognition system capable of fulfilling all biometric security needs relating to identity authentication, controlled access, and surveillance. It provides unparalleled verification and identification, true scalability, easy integration, and easy maintenance. AcSys FRS can be implemented as a stand-alone solution, or integrated with existing security solutions and it doesn't require any proprietary hardware," said Jerry Janik, AcSys Biometrics' president and C.E.O. "We are very proud of our team and the effort they put forth getting these products to market."
The access control product can be integrated with existing access control solutions or implemented on its own with a variety of card reader modules and door strike mechanisms. The system has been designed from the ground up for phased deployment and easy maintenance.
The PC logon product augments the Windows logon process to protect your PC and the network from unauthorized access. Using an inexpensive Web Cam, this system logs you onto the PC using your face so that only those users who have been enrolled in the system can access the PC.
The AcSys Face Recognition System (AcSys FRS) uses advanced neural-net technology to provide unparalleled face recognition and identity authentication. The features of this revolutionary technology include:
- Advanced Identity Authentication: Verifies (one-to-one) or identifies (one-to-many) faces by comparing them to a neural-net engram derived from multiple facial images taken from various angles. The engram cannot be reverse engineered to produce an image. - Advanced Neural-Net Platform: Holographic/Quantum Neural Technology (HNeT) makes AcSys FRS far more accurate and faster in both learning and recall than traditional neural nets. The speed of HNeT also allows AcSys FRS to scale better than other biometric technologies. Biometric security is no longer a fanciful notion from science fiction. With AcSys FRS and HNeT, face recognition technology comes of age. - Microsoft(R) SQL Server(TM) Ready: Quick access and high availability through Microsoft SQL Server database engine. - Proven Accuracy: 0% False Acceptance Rate (FAR), 3.1% False Rejection Rate at medium security settings for the primary visit (performance metrics derived from Round Three of International Biometric Group's Comparative Biometric Testing, performed in 2001 - www.biometricgroup.com). - Web Ready: Can be used over the Internet, and in Virtual Private Network, LAN, WAN, environments.
AcSys Biometrics is a joint venture between NEXUS Group International Inc. and AND Corporation, the owner and developer of the patented, proprietary Holographic/Quantum Neural Technology (HNeT). AcSys is the leading-edge provider of facial recognition through its exclusive worldwide license for face and speech recognition based on the core software - HNeT - with applications for the financial, manufacturing, security and medical sectors. NEXUS is a Burlington, Ontario-based, organization focused on leading- edge technologies. Its goal is to position itself as the leader in biometric technology and other advanced fields. NEXUS trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange as NXS.
