NYTimes Article: nytimes.com As the boys in the Grand Alliance so often have said, "This is merely an implementation problem"! In reading Sinclair's petition to the FCC, it appears that he does not want to drop 8-VSB but to give broadcasters the option of using 8-VSB or COFDM. Estimates are that it would cost about an extra $30 to put both transmission receivers in a DTV versus simply the 8-VSB receiver.
