The MMOB (Mainstreet Moms Oppose Bush) is a grassroots get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiative supporting record-breaking voter turnout against Bush/Cheney, especially among women, and particularly in the battleground states. While started by mothers, the MMOB has grown to include absolutely everybody who wants to "do something!" about the 2004 election. The MMOB is registered with the Federal Elections Commission as a Political Action Committee. The primary organizing tool for the MMOB is The Countdown, a news and action letter aiming to inform, connect and mobilize women for the 2004 election who might not otherwise consider themselves politically active.
