Jason, on U.S.A. Floral Product [ROSI]. . .My take is this. . .
ROSI is a two year old company that has shown a profit every quarter since its inception. Over the past two years, they have completed many successful acquisitions of floral distributors around the world, making this fledgling company the world's largest floral distributor.
They bought a hanger 80 miles from the FedEx hub in Memphis, so that flowers can be sent them, processed and turned around in record time. . .getting them to the retailers within 24 hours [or less] of being cut, upon request. . .and to the flower retailers, the fresher the flowers the better chance of selling them before they go to waste.
My guess is they probably have a great volume rate worked out with FedEx as well. And now they are focusing on the internet. . .not sure how, but drop-shipping for retailers and E-tailers sure comes to mind.
All in all, the story of ROSI is simply amazing. If I were a new company in need of a fantastic Chief Operating Officer, I would just go to ROSI and offer whatever he wanted to lure him away.
And that is what I believe happened, unless someone has direct word from the company on reasons. . .that might contradict this probable scenario.
I am still in SAM mode on ROSI and am loving it at these lower prices.
