Tecmar Doubles Warranty On Entire Product Line
LONGMONT, COLORADO--Tecmar Technologies Inc. Monday announced that
it is doubling the warranty across all of its product lines,
including Wangtek quarter-inch cartridge, Wangtek Travan mini
cartridge and WangDAT 4mm DAT tape drives.
Effective immediately, buyers of any Tecmar Wangtek or WangDAT
tape-drive product will receive a two-year warranty.
Over the past year, Tecmar has successfully migrated its entire
Wangtek and WangDAT product portfolio to next-generation
platforms.
"These next-generation products have improved technological and
reliability features, which ultimately allows Tecmar to double the
existing warranty coverage. More importantly, doubling our
warranty provides resellers with a greater degree of confidence to
recommend and sell Tecmar products," said Amar Samra, director of
product marketing for Tecmar.
With the new universal DC6000 platform, Tecmar is producing some
of the most reliable and highest-quality data cartridge tape
drives available today. The new WangDAT model 3800 and 3900 DAT
products with built-in internal head cleaners result in greater
reliability, thus minimizing data-related failures.
The newly announced Wangtek TS420 Travan 4 product incorporates
the industry's first read-while-write feature. This feature
dramatically speeds up the backup process by 100 percent and also
improves data reliability by rewriting marginal data blocks that
could potentially become unrecoverable during the data-restore
process.
According to Jan Lawford, director of vendor management for
CHS-UK: "Tecmar's introduction of next-generation products in
quick succession and the new warranty coverage to two years
