A Bargain Basement Android Newbie ... Hi Syl, I'm sorry to see that this board has gone rather fallow now that I'm fumbling along as a new Android user while I wait for Microsoft to launch just the right (for my use) Lumia model on the right Network (Verizon ideally or alternatively AT&T who have the best coverage and capacity in the quad-state DE/PA/MD/VA where I most use a mobile primarily for talk and text with some WiFi for data. I just purchased a used Samsung Galaxy S III SPH-L710 16GB Marble White ('Sprint') Smartphone purchased from 'youbuyrite' a very high volume and highly rated eBay phone seller for $139.95 delivered ... Sprint became my network of choice and dictated the baseband type because Sprint MVNO 'Chit Chat Mobile' offered the best cost value for my purposes: bring your own Sprint device ... $22.78 per month (incl. tax) for unlimited nationwide talk and text on a no contract month to month basis with auto renewal. The Galaxy S III which was chosen for its exceptional inbound and outbound voice quality as well as superb functionality, display, and build quality arrived in like new condition with a new OEM battery. I added a 32 GB Samsung Class 10 microSDHC card and paired it with my Plantronics BT Voyager Pro headset. Thirty minutes after unboxing I activated and was up and running on Chit Chat Mobile. I'm also in the process of setting up a (forked) Android Kindle Fire HD eBook Reader/Tablet for my wife. Cheers, - Eric -
