The 1 million Taiwanese Chinese in China (400k in Greater Shanghai, rest in Guangdong/Fujian provinces) constitute a fair portion of the core productive folks of 21.5 mm total population.
Under the circumstances, invasion seems hardly necessary, as time is doing its math of attrition.
