Robertson Stephens Reiterates Buy Rating on FFIV

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2000--Robertson Stephens Managing Director and Senior eNetworking software/Enablers Analyst John Powers today reiterated his Buy rating on F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), after the company reported strong fiscal first quarter results. F5 Networks is a leading provider of integrated Internet traffic management solutions that are designed to improve the availability and performance of mission-critical Internet-based applications and servers.

"We are reiterating our Buy rating on F5, after the company reported outstanding revenue and earnings results,"
said Powers. "Revenue was higher than our estimate by $4.5 million, while earnings-per-share was higher than our estimate by six cents."

"Strong customer growth and financials highlighted the quarter," said Powers. "The company added 425 new
customers this quarter, bringing the total number of customers up to 1175. F5 also reported strong revenue
growth, improved operating and net margins, and strong cash and deferred revenue growth."

"We are raising our estimates to reflect the company's business strength," said Powers. "We are increasing our
fiscal 2000 revenue estimate to $90.0 million and our earnings-per-share estimate to $0.77, from $69.9 and
$0.64, respectively. We are establishing a new fiscal 2001 revenue estimate of $135.1 and an earnings-per-share estimate of $1.28."
