If you want to be clinical about the situation, eternal war does have the good feature of strengthening the gene pool (on a relative basis).

To the atheist: you are a born breathing machine, the machine dies end story. You is over,forever. So why care about the gene pool?
As for all various optimistic hereafter scenarios, what could be more irrelevant than survival of fittest and better gene pools?

And for the "i don't know " agnostics, looking at the atheists prognosis and the optimists prognosis they can discern from both these polar opposite views that survival of fittest for a better gene pool is irrelevant.

As to where i stand regards the above scenarios is not here revealed as that is irrelevant no matter where i stand.
So we go to the clinical view. War creates a better gene pool would suggest something good as you decreed , no? However, i say , not so, not for humankind, that is, for as humankind gets more and more efficient at kiling so it becomes more and more likely to be the first species to cause its own extinction.
i throw this random aside post in as a tic for tac to a random aside from Mr.Geographic Location Handle person, you suggested "a good" to eternal war. Max
