That, of course, made sense from our point of view. But since we already had first strike missles less than 90 miles away from Russian soil -- in fact, just a few miles away in some cases -- looked at objectively, which I agree Americans are virtually unable to do, they were merely balancing the equation.

I notice that we did not take our ballistic missles away from Turkey, Germany, etc. in response, so we still didn't feel that there was any need for equity in the situation.

Which is part of our problem internationally -- we feel that different rules should apply to us than should apply to other countries.
