Leto emphasized:
1) If Malaysian sale had come in earlier, before quarter-end, they would have met goals for the period; 2) Per above, large sales can make or break a quarter; 3) This quarter, unlike previous Q's during his tenure, was characterized by "singles and doubles" - smaller sales, but more of them. He saw this as significant and positive. 4) Malaysian sale will demonstrate how products add value to high bandwidth environments. US still not quite there yet, in terms of high bandwidth infrastructure, but getting there. 5) Sales force consolidation and product upgrades mentioned. 6) Optimistic comments about the pipeline, but he's "out of the business" of projecting sales numbers.
As usual, he added depth and meaning to the story. There are, IMHO, good reasons for hanging in there - given a potential which may be on the verge of being recognized as more high visibility reference sites, such as the Malaysian situation, come on line. |
