Addi,

>>I have no doubt that MSFT will be slowing
down BIG time. But I dont think that will happen anytime
soon

==============================================================
I've read your last 2 posts re:MSFT going forward. You make
some interesting points: 1) MSFT will wind up assisting in
the growth of SUNW & 2) MSFT won't be making the money they
used to make in the software business.

I agree. They will spend a bundle trying to leverage their
current investment in corporate computing while their profits
from destop sales will moderate with the introduction of the
Java machine (NC).

They probably realize that it will be necessary to sell applications
software to shore up the bottom line. I can see MSFT "Office"
as a Java application running on an NC. Your point about this
hurting their "Windows" sales is a good one.

MSFT always seems to be at a crossroads because they don't innovate,
they replicate. It must be eternal chaos up in Redmond, going in
5 directions at the same time. Who knows what they'll look like
5 years from now??

By contrast, SUNW is in the driver's seat for corporate computing
and will be making a significant entre' into the office (volume
desktop) market. They are setting the trends and calling the
shots. The force of their ideas will wind up making MSFT into
a better company, and a more compliant one.

cheers,

cherylw
