Solon, your attempts to discredit the Lord God Almighty, creator and sustainer of the universe, by arguing your own moral superiority is sort of like the man who attempts to disprove magnetism using a compass. Maybe you can enlighten us as to how you arrived at this "morality" since if God does not exist there is no morality. I don't try to discredit any God. Even the worse human that ever lived has far better credentials as a moral being than the killer that rages through the bible. God does not behave that way. That is a barbarian representation of God that was pieced together many years ago when superstition raged and people thought the earth was flat and that hares chewed their cud, and that babies were created by a woman's sperm intermingling with a man's sperm (female eggs were not discovered until the 1800's). Do you think the stories in the bible are a good guide to morality?? I am going to have a look at some of those wonderful stories shortly... As far as moral superiority, I have never said such. One is not morally superior; One is moral or one is immoral by degrees--but the degrees of adherence to good (or evil)intentions, are not degrees of superiority. I have lived a moral life. I am far from perfect, but if I had to look back on my life and live with the memory of the things that your God is reputed to have done (but didn't)...I would immediately kill myself, and so, I think, would most human beings on this Earth.
