In our efforts to provide a quality service, we have installed our own T1 Internet circuit to support RT Trader and have ordered a second circuit for implementation around April 9.
In addition, unlike many other Internet based services, RT Trader does not impose any restrictions on the number of symbols you can monitor. We would like to continue to provide you with access to an unlimited number of symbols, however, we have noticed, that the majority of users are monitoring in excess of 250 symbols. There are many users who are monitoring 400, 500 and in one case over 1200 symbols. Can you really monitor this number of symbols?
This has a direct impact on our ability to plan and administer both, circuit requirements and computer power. Based on our projections, we should not have any problems in supporting our current number of registered of subscribers with one T1 circuit, if each user does not exceed 200 symbols. However, with a large number of users monitoring considerably more than that, we very quickly run out of bandwidth, resulting in delays and dropped communications.
We need your help! Please refrain from just adding symbols to your pages without removing symbols that you do not really watch. If each user eliminated those symbols, we would realize a 30% reduction in the amount of data that we would have to send, thereby, improving the grade of service to you.
NAQ feels that RT Trader is the best real-time service for the money. However, if NAQ cannot manage the cost of providing service at current prices effectively, then the price will have to go up and/or symbol restrictions may have to be imposed.
It is simple to remove symbols. Click on a symbol, and press the delete key. You can also overwrite a symbol, by clicking on the existing symbol and just typing in a new one.
