You are a reasonable man Gottfried.

Then he went nuts on us just as saddam might if the balance of terror works to his favor. Remember when he gets those weapons operational it will not be containment--it will be balance of terror. And the US will not sacrifice one soldier then for the Saudi princes if saddam moves against them. What we will do is cut a deal with saddam. And guess what i will be in favor of that and Jerome, Cary, Daschle and the boys probably would want to go to war with him then.

Its not where it starts, its where it ends. In the US after the war, the civil libertarians get their way and the pendelum swings back. And i will be shoulder to shoulder with you at the appropriate time. That is not to say that the excesses should not be pointed out. Keep pointing.
As far as the holocaust goes, you were a kid so you need not feel guilt. When i was younger I always felt guilty because the Jews did not put up a more vigourous fight. Never realized then that in order to have a chance you needed weapons. mike
