Hi Tyc:

Nope, not playing copper at all.... yet. Just providing info. I noted the positive comments on copper so posted the opposing view to provide "food for thought".

Even though I am normally as comfortable on the short side as the long side, in this environment (when governments can change the rules at a whim) I am staying with what is for me a low risk scene.... that being long gold-based plays.

Before leaving Veneroso's early call on Copper... it should be noted that he made the call well before the fall from $4.00, and there was indeed a remarkable amount of physical that showed up "out of nowhere" as it fell. The fact that you or I may "fail to see anything unusual or conspiratorial" doesn't mean that someone else may do more intense analysis or digging and actually spot unusual things going on. For me, it is the details such folk cite that causes me to add or subtract weight to/from their opinion.

Yes, it may well be national stockpiling going on, but the fact is that current global economic activity does not provide a solid underpinning for the current price of copper.

Best,
Earlie
