AMAT is one of the kings of the semiconductor equipment sector.

I bought when it was in $20 when the original "Blood On The Street" semiconductor thread was started on SI i the late 90s. It has been a good if highly cyclical and volatile hold during that time.

The dynamics of the industry has changes a lot since then. Now only a handful of companies can afford the next generation of semiconductor fabs, but the dollar value for each order has multiplied exponentially,

I expect greater volatility for the next cyclical contraction as the concentration of orders into such a dramatically smaller number of customers for most semiconductor equipment companies means if one customer sneezes they all get sick..
