re: AMD was the semi's classic turnaround story for 2000 I won't argue that point. And I won't argue that intel has misstepped in the past (as has AMD in it's history). Looking forward, Northwood puts Athlon at a 600 MHz defecit in the short term. IA-64 is winning converts for future application across the big players in the server market. AMD's hamster is slipping a quarter every quarter and now appears to be repositioned as a desktop chip as opposed to it's original vaunted target for servers. re: to know your enemy's worth. I do. That, in fact, is the basis for my position. <VBG>
