Monthly Sales
For the four weeks ended January 26, 2002, same store sales rose 8.3 percent over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same store sales were up 11.3 percent, while front-end same store sales were up 3.3 percent.
Total drugstore sales for the four-week period rose 6.8 percent to $1.155 billion compared to $1.082 billion for the same period last year. Prescription revenue accounted for 64.2 percent of drugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 91.6 percent of pharmacy sales.
Year-to-Date Sales
Same store sales for the 47-week period ended January 26, 2002 increased 8.2 percent, consisting of an 11.3 percent pharmacy same store sales increase and a 3.5 percent increase in front-end same store sales.
Total drugstore sales for the 47 weeks ended January 26, 2002 gained 6.4 percent to $13.596 billion from $12.778 billion in last year's like period. Prescription revenue accounted for 61.3 percent of total drugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue was 92.0 percent of pharmacy sales.
