Mr. Cavalry,
It gives creditors a good idea of how reliable the company is in making its payments. Generally the score is between 1 -100, 100 being the best risk on behalf of the creditor. For example, if the company scores , say, a '3', they would be a very high risk and most likely have a very poor record of making payments, if they do at all. Believe it or not, some of these companies are forced to operate with credit lines of only $250 !! I'm quite serious. There are some very high-risk companies out there. I hope that helps.
