Comey set himself up. If Comey only did the investigation and didn't do a "report" Congress would have forced him to testify where the report would come out. He should have declined. There wasn't a pressing national need to do such an investigation. It was purely political.

The fact that one party investigates the presumptive nominee and candidate for the presidency is not acceptable. We've never done it before and now it'll happen again and again.

Republicans use character assassination since they don't have anything else to run on and the media lets them do it. The Clinton email was called a scandal before the investigation began. Whitewater was called a scandal AFTER the Clintons were exonerated. Truth died a long time ago, along with the gop and journalism.
