Such hostility in your letter to Pierre! Are you not sleeping well? The longs in this stock are probably correct that PRST has a new technology which can generate nice growth in revenues and earnings for several years. The conflict between the shorts and the longs is simply about THE PRICE. The price of today, $1 billion dollars, assumes that above average growth is a CERTAINTY for more than several years into the future. That assumes that competition will be dormant and no new technologies will emerge. When CL predicts $40 of EPS and a 40x multiple he is saying that PRST will very soon be the valuation of KODAK or Gillette. This is NOT PROBABLE. There will not be a Heidelberg in every office in the free world nor the home of most American men. Does price matter to the longs or is this a good story at $400 per share? If the stock splits three for one and goes back to $65 is it still a GREAT STOCK? Most good little emerging growth stories are fun because the market cap BEFORE DISCOVERY by the market is small and does not reflect THE POTENTIAL. However in this case, the market cap is very large and reflects certain success. Well, success is not certain and that's why some investors will bet against you. One more point, since 2.2 million shares are short, the total number of shares that investors "OWN" are 18.2 million... all potential SELLS if things get sticky. On the other hand, there are only 2.2 million shares to be repurchased by shorts if things get sticky for them. You might surmise that a LONG-Squeeze could easily happen!
