Neil, I think the next major tech stock movement is going to depend on the perceived sales and general tech market health around October. Note that the market has been known to dive at the end of October. I don't think the market will dive this year because it's an election year - Clinton, et.al., will do their best to convince us that all is well and, actually, it hasn't been all that bad. Lately, in fact most of this summer, I think Iomega's price has been strongly market driven - as well as depressed by rabbits and fanatics.

Most every weekend I checkout Zip and Jaz stocks locally. One hell of a lot of Zips are being sold every day. Computer City alone usually cycles through a couple hundred every two weeks. Jaz externals usually don't stay on shelves longer than a week. It appears CompUSA sells Zips and Jaz even faster. I don't get there as often, but their initial stacks are higher and I've seen them nearly sold out also.

I don't think Iomega's Q3 report will be as bad as the pessimists think. What will be important will be how the sales spread out over the quarter (I doubt we'll be told this info). Sales should start to be heating up when college classes start - now through September. I think we should have a very good fall and Christmas season. Notice that most new computers are getting more and more toys, particularly scanners and video stuff. Portable storage will be a hot item.
