Jim,

I ignored the other segments of AMD's business, which, apparently, so did most people. This being the case I feel its fair to assume:

1. AMD is performing admirably in the K6 arena.
2. Other segments will come back with a cyclical turn around.

The street will undoubtedly have a negative take on AMD over the short term, but if you look at the strategy AMD has openly stated they are trying to execute, you will see this as a pure buy. I am not trying to be a contrarian, its just that with a qtrly growth of 69% in the k6 segment during the worst part of the year, AMD will recover.

Its unfortunate that chip makers are a lot like candy makers. Chocolate and, "Chips," are not major purchase items in the summer. Because AMD is focussed on the low end, consumer business, they should see and incredible surge near the fall and winter.

There are other companies that follow a similar model, counter top appliances sell 70% of their stock during the last qtr of the year.

AMD is now at the low, and its now time to buy.

Day traders will inevitably think this message is foolish, investors should remain patient as AMD is executing very well, even though results are very poor.

Good luck.
