You're right. This guy does not have a clue about UTEK. This is what I call "analyst fatigue". It sets in after a few downgrades. All the analysts (most of whom are under the age of 30 these days) then experience doubts. Since the price is down as well, they feel the need to respond by justifying the price. So they come up with a reason to downgrade and get their estimate in line with the rest of the herd. Bear in mind that many so-called analysts do very little work on some of the companies that they cover so their comments, earnings estimates, and insights are virtually worthless. This guy had the stock rated "outperform" prior to the downgrade. This is not a buy recommendation. He simply lowered a notch from nowhere to nowhere. Basically, who cares what he thinks?

This will go on with UTEK for awhile now until they all get in line with lowered estimates and ratings. This period will provide a great buying opportunity.

Remember, a few weeks ago, the herd was scurrying to downgrade NVLS in the mid $50's. Give me a break!

How about the genius analyst at Sondview that downgraded CPQ on April 18 at $72-74. Another genius that couldn't get his facts right.

Good Wall Street analysts are few and far between. Some of the people on this thread do far more work on the companies than most of these bozo analysts. Unfortunately they don't command the fat salaries.
