Given the way nominations are now based on politics rather than the law because of activist judges the confirmation process has become completely unworkable. Remember all it takes is 5 judges and you have no right to freedom of religion or free speach. Consider that. You are 5 votes away from judges saying the Bill of Rights are antiquated nonsense and are not in following with the trends of international law or UN mandates. If you are not scared by activist judges, you should be. Five hitlers on the court and Jews are enemies of the state, BY LAW. Also notice that no President would knowingly appoint a conservative AND an activist to the court during the same term. Also don't forget that Robert Bork didn't make the court so just because a republican nominates doesn't mean jack anymore. Here are the members of the court: Conservative: Scalia--Reagan Rehnquist--Nixon Thomas--Bush Libertarian: O'Conner--Reagan Communists: Souter--Bush I duped Kennedy--Reagan duped Breyer--Carter Stevens--Ford duped Ginsburg--Clinton Bush I got duped by Souter who lives near me and by the way got mugged in SW Washington DC. Too bad he is anti rights or he might have been able to protect himself. I bet he isn't as leftist as he was.
