Is it just me, or are these "glowing" financial and consumer numbers being massaged to get the intended result?

What is a "seasonal adjustment" to the retail sales figures? It's .2%, but with "adjustments", they put out a 1.2% figure to make stocks rally.

Then you have 5.8% GDP growth. But, did PROFITS grow? NO! It seems to me the entire US economy, the consumers, and the government phony numbers are all based on the Amazon theory of business -- sales are positive even if you are losing money on each one. And, consumer spending is better if they are spending borrowed money!

This is a massive debt house of cards. It is the financial equivalent of the Clinton political and moral era -- "if it feels good, do it"! This can ONLY end very badly. I must confess I will not feel bad for the money pimps of wallstreet. Unfortunately, they will involve the funds of average Americans who have placed their trust in something built on scandal and deceit.

I remain,

SOROS
