I agree that offspring are wonderful and the prime biological directive of ALL living matter. But the abortion rights issue is entirely unrelated to how much all of us value our kids. The Old Testament is a Jewish testament cobbled together by tribal scribes 3000 odd years ago. Abortion is not really addressed in it. Nor do the Commandments have anything to say about it.

I would not base my own moral opinions on the opinions of primitive, pre-scientific tribal leaders without either art or philosophy--but for the record: Virtually every Jewish Rabbi, Scholar, or leader believes (on the basis of THEIR Testament) that the fetus only becomes human after birth even though it has a "soul" before that. Of course, all of this is silly and endless hermeneutics. My point is that you are entitled to your opinions about abortion but unless you are a Jew you might be advised not to tell them what their testament means...
