Buying from Sellers on Amazon.com

By Megan H. - Forum Moderatoramazon, 08-May-2014 10:20 PDT Permalink Report abuse

If you purchased an item on our website and it shows sold and fulfilled by someone other than Amazon.com then you've purchased from one of our Sellers. Want to learn more? Follow this link: amazon.com

1. I placed an order for several items but one of them didn't qualify for Prime or Free Super Saver Shipping. How come?
Items sold and fulfilled by sellers on Amazon Marketplace are shipped directly by the sellers and for items to qualify for Prime or Free Super Saver Shipping they have to be shipped by Amazon.com directly.
Some Sellers let Amazon.com fulfill their products. If that's the case, it will be specified in the product's detail page and will qualify for both Prime and Free Super Saver Shipping.
If the product is fulfilled by Amazon.com then it'll be treated like any other product sold and fulfilled by Amazon.com we will provide all customer service.

2. I want to cancel an order I placed from a seller. How do I do it?
You'd need to contact the seller directly to request cancellation of your order before it goes into the shipping process. You should know that there's a very small window to make your request. Here's how to contact the seller:

- Go to the Your Account page and click the "View Recent and Open Orders" button. amazon.com
- Find your order and click "View order."
- Click "Problem with this order?"
- Click the "Contact seller" button.
- Create and send the email or call (Some sellers may have a phone number listed in their "at-a-glance" page).

3. I need to return the order I placed from a seller, what's the next step?
To start the return request, visit the Online Returns Center and select Return items here: amazon.com
From there, follow the process of submitting a return request. The seller will review and, in most cases, will respond within 48 hours. Once the seller responds, you'll be notified by e-mail of the status of your return request. For approved requests, you'll receive the seller's return address with mailing instructions.

4. Why has my order disappeared from my Amazon.com account? I have a confirmation email that the order was placed!
Even though sellers work very hard to maintain their inventories and set their prices correctly, errors are bound to occur. It could happen that items are listed with an incorrect price on our site or won't be available when it's time for the seller to ship your order, causing the cancellation of the order. If this happens, the order will no longer be visible in Your Account. The seller should send you an e-mail with the cancellation information. Feel free to contact them directly if you would like to know more.

5. How come, if my order was canceled, I still see a charge?
When you place an order with Amazon.com or with Amazon Marketplace, we may contact your credit card's issuing bank to confirm that your credit card has a valid number, and has not been reported as lost or stolen. This is communicated via a full authorization for the amount of the purchase.
If your Order is canceled, your card may be authorized and funds may be reserved against your account for a few days. Some banks may hold these authorizations for up to 7-10 business days.
In some cases (e.g., you use a gift card or your debit card is processed as a PIN-less transaction), you may see a charge for a canceled item. If you're charged for a canceled item, we'll refund you within 1-2 business days.

6. OK, the seller canceled my order, I want to leave feedback about it but the order is no longer visible in my Amazon.com account, what do I do now?
Even though canceled orders no longer appear in Your Account, you can still leave feedback by going to the Orders section and clicking "Leave Seller Feedback" in Your Account
amazon.com
Sometimes, it can take a few days for the canceled order to appear in the "Leave Seller Feedback" section. If it's not there yet, please just check back!

7. My item arrived damaged, what do I do now? It was purchased from a seller on Amazon.com
The first step would be to contact the seller directly. To contact the seller:

- Click "Your Order" in Your Account here: amazon.com
- Find the order, and click the "Contact Seller" button.

Please give the seller 3 business days to get back to you. If you can't work something out with the seller, you're always welcome to file an A-to-Z Guarantee claim online here: amazon.com

8. What's the A-to-Z Guarantee Claim?
We want you to buy with confidence when you purchase products on Amazon.com. That's why we guarantee purchases from Amazon Marketplace and Merchant sellers when the payment is made using our website. The condition and delivery of the item you buy are guaranteed under the Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee. We have an A-to-z Guarantee Claim FAQs help page; you're welcome to visit it to learn more.
