Steve, I can tell you many who are brilliant, but, since they aren't allowed to use their talent, it doesn't do much good. Gary Lewis is brilliant, but he works for a firm with "market discipline." John Doney is brilliant, but he works for a firm where they are very careful to stay within "categories" on their funds. George Soros is brilliant, but if you don't have $50 million, you are going to get a flunky, not Georgie, to run your money. Hank Hermann is brilliant, but he now runs the company instead of money.
So it goes down the line. Lots of brilliant people who are shackled by silly investment restrictions. More who have made their money and don't do it any more. |
