The delay in the US 3G spectrum auctions is apparently related to the existing licenses of UHF TV stations that already occupy part of the spectrum. Here is a link to an interesting article in "The Economist." The article describes this as a significant roadblock to the use of the spectrum allocated for 3G in the US. economist.com Mike
