Why do investors think this upwards movement is due to a "short Squeeze"! Good question, Phil. Actually, I don't think the rise is due to a short squeeze. Not yet! I think the shorts are being squeezed as the stock rises. They are being shoved into their discomfort zone and at some point will be forced to buy back or raise capital. It is interesting to me that the trading volume approached half a million Friday, or about ten times normal....A lot for a stock w/ only 7.2 M shares outstanding...and yet there is no news release. Some of that volume undoubtedly represents frightened shorts, but most just represents people/money managers who have been waiting for the stock to start moving before making a commitment. I agree that this cold season will likely define GUMM for some time to come....and also have come to the conclusion that we will see 20 plus....but, I am unsure if the fundamentals alone would warrant these higher valuations in the short term. I think the shorts will fuel several dollars of this rise, and battle to force the stock back down until the company shows the ability for sustainable revenue growth.
