Hi Bill, Lets have a history lesson, shall we.

Very good questions.

>>The Nortel issue is a good one!!! Why QAM and not DMT??? Price... QAM works
with CAP??? Quicker to market then DMT solution??? If one reads the AMTX
proxy... it seem Nortel and AMTX worked together on DMT. This QAM issue with
Nortel in a BIG question mark for me!!

When did Nortel and Amtx do their work together? 92/93.

What was the application back in 1993. --> video.

When did the killer app (the internet) happen? Maybe
I should reword this and ask, when would a CEO look
into his crystal ball and say, Gee wis, this internet thing
is going to be really big. --> 1995

What was Nortel doing between 93 (video apps --> no bucks)
and 95 (internet --> big bucks)? ---> you fill in the blank.

What does a leading big telecom company do when it needs to
have an ADSL game plan but the cost effective solution isn’t
available until 1Q97. --> Use your inhouse technology (QAM) until
the solution is available (Copper Gold). Theres alot more to develop
back at the CO than just a line card. Why pay for a CAP license when
QAM performs just as badly.

Go back and read the announcements. They say something like they will
use it when it becomes available.

Hope this Helps.
Steve
