mishedlo: Without risk, there is no gain. I see the risk as very, very minimal for AAPL. Jobs happens to be on Gap's board, and he learned a few things while being there. Well, actually Jobs has *always* been a marketing genius. You are underestimating him... these are rumored to be stylish stores w/ a flare similar to their iMacs. It will sell their products just as iMac's style saved them from doom. These stores are, in fact, the greatest hope AAPL ever had. AAPL has no really good direct sales channel except their Web site. CompUSA sales reps know nothing about AAPL products and often are behind the curve when stocking items. This is why AAPL recently announced this move: applelinks.com

BTW, I highly, highly doubt AAPL will merely be selling computers in those stores. These will be appliance stores of the future IMO... a Jetson's smorgsbord. I-appliances galore. ORCL's Ellison is seldom wrong.
