S3 may have dislodged CHPS in Toshiba laptops CHPS may be in for some rough sledding. The word on Wall Stree is that the company is about to get designed out of a family of laptop PCs from Toshiba, the Number 1 US laptop manufacturer. S3 is said to be the winner. For its part, though, CHPS says it 's far from being knocked out of the Toshiba fold. Its HiQVideox graphics accelerator was designed into a Toshiba notebook line featuring Intel 's new MMX P55C.
