I read what you said and understand fully it's significance. A question comes to mind though. The PE on individual stocks and that average of the Nas is much discussed and assessed. I hope this is not a frivolous question but why isn't that same stat given equal scrutiny for the Dow? Maybe it is and I just haven't been as aware of it. But it seems in my readings that it is not and wonder why it is so painstakingly important for Nas stocks but not for those of the Dow.
