That's what I'm doing I think, maybe I wasn't clear.

I've created an image of the current drive and validated it. I have it stashed on an external hard drive on a USB2.0 interface.

I'll now remove the current drive and install the SATA drive. I'll boot from the bootable Acronis CD I made using Acronis. I'll tell it to install the image on the external drive onto the SATA drive. I wouldn't think I would have to partition and format it, I think Acronis does it for you.

I'll post how it goes....
