Mike ~ A thoughtful response to Ptaskmaster's challenge to comment on Hudson's work. "In the mining industry the target is much more simple, although maybe not that simple....Collect, concentrate and convert." Well done.

Not to discount 'fringe' science, the work before the miners is certainly as challenging at the moment. Too bad it must be done within a black box to protect their emerging technology. I always thought it telling of an underlying process that most all the world's great discoveries, from the steam engine to the airplane to the cotton gin, were 'invented/discovered' by many people in different locations at approximately the same historical time. How many miners are working on the process now?

As for polymers & clusters, the Aug 19 'Proceedings of the National Academey of Sciences' show two studies suggesting that a polymer that conducts electricity could help damaged nerves grow back and that chemically modified buckyballs could help prevent nerves from degenerating. The work was done at MIT, Harvard U, Brown U, Washington U and National Taiwan U. But what do rat brains have to do with the DD's [vbg].

"Let's go get the birds nest on the ground first." Yes!
